QUALITY OF LIFE
ENHANCING OUR PARKS
The Parks Division works to maintain and update parks, trails, historic
sites, and recreation facilities for active and passive use.
During this past fiscal year, planning began for a synthetic multi-purpose field at Bensville Park (located at 6980 Bensville Road, White
Plains, MD). The new, multi-purpose turf field will be available for football,
soccer, and lacrosse games.
Additional turf fields are located at Laurel Springs Regional Park in La
Plata, and White Plains Regional Park in White Plains.
The parks in Charles Count y of fer hours of fun, and many include
public playgrounds and play areas. The play equipment is contemporary, encourages innovative play, and meets all industry standards for
safety compliance. Facilities are designed to accommodate all levels of
abilities, including special needs.

Bensville Park of fers athletic playing fields, a playground and a small
pavilion. Additonal sports fields include: one regulation-size basketball
court, one regulation-size baseball, three lit tle league baseball, three
soccer, and one football field. A separate field has been designated as
an area for general community use.
