SPORT TOURISM — FISHING TOURNAMENTS
Major League Fishing (MLF) brings the high-intensit y sport of competitive bass fishing into America’s Living rooms on national television
networks and streams in real time online. MLF and their partners conduct more than 290 bass fishing tournaments around the world.
The upper part of the Potomac River has an amazing history as a
natural habitat and fisheries breeding area for largemouth bass
and other native fish. From July 2023 to June 2024, Charles
Count y Government partnered with MLF and Smallwood
State Park to host five fishing tournaments. Participants
from across the United States and Canada traveled to
Charles County to compete.

additional tournaments have
been negotiated for fiscal
year 2025.
