The Southern Maryland Rapid Transit (SMRT)
project includes design and construction of
an interconnection pipeline to Washington
Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) in
Prince George’s County, down Route 301, and
into the Waldorf water system and a Bacteria
Activated Carbon Water Treatment Plant to
retreat WSSC water, up to five million gallons
per day of additional potable water for the
Waldorf water system.
