In 2024 and into 2025, the county launched several initiatives to ensure
residents have greater opportunities to connect, share feedback, and
access information.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH EFFORTS
Led by the Media Services Division, targeted community outreach efforts have
brought county government services and information directly to residents.
Through par tnerships with local agencies and organizations, neighborhood visits, and informational campaigns, the county has made deliberate
efforts to meet people where they are and ensure broad, diverse community
representation.

PUBLIC MEETINGS, FORUMS, AND ENGAGEMENT INITIATIVES
Throughout 2024, the county hosted numerous public meetings and forums
on key issues, including transportation, housing, public safet y, and environmental initiatives. These forums provided residents with opportunities
to speak directly to count y leadership and contribute to shaping policies
and projects.
CITIZEN FEEDBACK AND RESPONSE
Charles Count y continues to prioritize responsive government through
improved tracking and reporting of citizen feedback. The Citizens Response
Office (CRO) collects and analyzes resident concerns, questions, and service
requests. Data collected helps the count y respond efficiently and guides
improvements in operations and services.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS
AND ENGAGEMENT
The Citizens Academy continued this
year with cohor ts in the spring and
fall. The program included presentations from County departments and
divisions, introductions to par tner
agencies, and field trips to unique
locations around the county.
Each cohor t completed class projects on improving communit y
engagement in count y government.
Recommendations from these projec t s included t he creation of an
annual Communit y Guide and the
establishment of a Citizens Academy
Ambassador Commission.
