WSSC WATER — WALDORF INTERCONNECTION PROJECT
The primar y, near-term initiative is the WSSC Water–
Waldorf Interconnection Project. This project will deliver
up to five million gallons per day (MGD) of treated surface water from the Washing ton Suburban Sanitar y
Commission (WSSC) system into the Charles Count y
Waldor f Water Sy s tem. T he W SSC Water–Waldor f
Interconnection Project will connect the Waldorf Water
System in Charles County with the WSSC Water System
in Prince George’s County.
This project will enhance the County’s public water supply,
improve water qualit y, and suppor t future communit y
growth.
Construction is anticipated to start between 2027 and
2029, and the completion of the projected is slated to
occur around 2030. Funding for the project is incorporated into the County’s Capital Improvement Program and
supported through the Water and Sewer Enterprise Fund.
The County has also secured a $250,000 EPA Community
Grant to assist with design services.
