Lifeguard Class Blended Learning Class
Designed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to ensure
the safety of patrons at aquatic facilities. Blended learning combined online learning
with in-person skills sessions where you will practice skills and demonstrate competency. Digital textbook and CPR mask are included in the course fees. Refunds will
not be given if participant does not pass the prerequisites or fails to complete the
certification requirements. Please call the pools for more information.

NRPA Aquatics Facility Operator Certification
The National Recreation and Park Association offers the premier certification program
in swimming pool operations, the Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) certification. The
AFO program provides the most comprehensive and up-to-date training for pool
operators and includes information on water chemistry, disinfection, mechanical
systems, operations, healthy pools, and safety. Materials included in course fee.

MARTIAL ARTS
Pre-Registration Required
Taught by William Blake – Students learn the basic principles and health benefits
of any one of the three Martial Art styles of your choice listed below. Topics to be
covered may include kicks, punches, blocks, forms, tumbling, falls, breathing, history, and self-defense. At the end of the course, students will be able to test for a
belt in their Martial Art style. Hapkido style will involve tumbling. Equipment fee
Love Taekwondo
Taught by Master Lynnette Love, a 1988 Olympic Gold Medalist and 8th Dan
Grandmaster, who has been teaching since 1984. Students will learn basic kicking,
punching and self-defense skills through repetition and will promote through various
belts to the ultimate goal of Black Belt. Sparring techniques, kicking targets, and
basic forms (pattern to an invisible opponent) are some of the physical elements of
taekwondo. Equipment fee will be collected at the first class. No class October 13.
Testing Fees: $55 (up to Jr Red Belts); $70 (Red Belts to Jr Black Belts); $70 Uniform
and $20 T-Shirt Fee (Optional)
