YOUTH SPORTS LEAGUES
Online, Pre-Registration Required
If selected, you will receive the registration refund after the first week of games.
Have fun playing while learning sport fundamentals in a “Good S.P.O.R.T.S.” atmosphere,
bringing together families and aspiring players to learn and practice sport fundamentals.
The community-based recreational youth leagues are, first and foremost, intended to
provide a positive social experience for young boys and girls with an emphasis on
good sportsmanship, fun and exercise. Children are placed on teams based on area,
age, height, and experience.
YOUTH BASKETBALL LEAGUES
Youth Basketball League: Co-Ed & Girls
Practices are scheduled to start no later than 8:00 p.m., Monday-Friday. Coaches will contact
players regarding practice which is scheduled to begin early December. Girls 8-10, 11-14
and Co-Ed 15-18 will be countywide leagues. Evening games are possible. All teams will
participate in a post season tournament.
The 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th Grade Boys, and 3rd, 4th-5th, and 6th-8th Grade Girls will
participate in a volunteer coach administered pre-season evaluation held from October
6-17. The evaluation will include offensive and defensive instruction and semi-organized
five on five games. At the conclusion of evaluations, coaches and sports staff will divide
players into teams. All players are required to attend at least one evaluation. Players that
attend High School Prep League tryouts do not have to attend evaluations. Pre-season

REGISTRATION IS LIMITED.
Age is as of September 1, 2025 (age 18
must be in high school).
Leagues may be combined due to low enrollment. Low
registration in a region requires playing in a neighboring
region. Ex: Piccowaxen may play in the Southern Region.
Requests for carpool, practice location, or
for coach cannot be guaranteed.
Players and coaches receive a team shirt. It is your
responsibility to select the correct shirt size (*add'l $15
charge for new shirt requests).
Practices are not guaranteed to be held at
the community center selected. Practices
will be held at the center or school within
proximity to the center selected.

High School Prep Basketball League
Must be registered for Youth Basketball League to participate. Register for the middle school you are
zoned to attend. Tryouts take place at the middle school your child is registering for.
Competitive league designed to prepare middle school students for high school basketball.
The top players in each school will represent their school in the best high school preparatory league in Southern Maryland. Players receive uniforms (reversible jersey, shorts, socks,
shooting/warm-up shirt).
• 6th, 7th, 8th Grades: Girl's teams - combined. Boy’s leagues broken into individual grades.
• Grade is as of September 1, 2025.
• If selected, an additional league fee of $50 is due by Friday, November 7, 2025.
• Pre-season practices begins in November.

YOUTH CO-ED VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE
Practice begins the week after Thanksgiving. Games and practices will be held Tuesday
& Friday. No weekends! All leagues will be countywide. Players will receive a volleyball
jersey to be worn during games. Practice and games will not be held during winter break
(Dec 21- Jan 1).
