The Spring GUIDE is Here!
Spring has sprung in the Department of Recreation, Parks, and Tourism and we've been hard at work
putting together a fantastic line-up of programs, special events, and sports leagues for the upcoming
season. Break out of the winter blues by attending one of our seasonal special events such as the Daddy
Daughter Dance, Blue Splash Water Safety Day, or the Spring Fishin' Buddies Derby!
In honor of Autism Awareness Month this April, we are excited to spearhead the Light Up Charles Blue
campaign, a collaborative, county-wide initiative involving multiple agencies. This monthlong celebration
is dedicated to raising awareness, fostering education, and bringing the community together through a
variety of engaging, family-friendly activities. The month will conclude with our signature event, the outdoor
Paint the Park Blue gathering, set to take place at the beautiful Field of Dreams in Laurel Springs Park.
Join us as we come together to shine a light on autism, support inclusion, and create lasting memories
throughout this meaningful month. Learn more on page 12.

In case you missed it in the Winter GUIDE - our facilities will be soon transitioning to a convenient and
secure cashless payment system. This change will make your transactions faster and simpler, letting you
get back to enjoying all our amenities with ease! Additionally, to keep pace with rising operational costs
and inflation, we will be implementing a gradual adjustment to our fees. This helps us maintain and
enhance the facilities you love, ensuring a top-quality experience for all residents. We are dedicated to
making this transition as seamless as possible for everyone.
We hope you find something that excites you in this edition of The GUIDE and look forward to seeing
you at one of our recreation centers, parks, and historic sites this spring!
Sincerely,
Kelli Beavers , CPRP, CPM
